Surface preparation and application conditions

• Firefilm A6 should be applied on a clean, undamaged and dry primed surface.
• For galvanised steel the correct primer is used (consult technical department).
• Application of the primer must be carried out in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
• Firefilm A6 should only be applied when the air and steel temperature is between 5°C and 40°C.
• The relative humidity must be below 80%.
• The surface temperature of the steel must be at least 3°C
• During application and drying, ensure that the steel is dry and not in contact with rain or condensation
• Firefilm A6 is supplied ready for use and must not be diluted

Application equipment

Airless spray equipment:

• The recommended maximum wet film thickness (WFT) is 1000 microns in a single spray layer consisting of multiple rapid blows. Two coats may be applied on the same day if the first one is completely dry, the temperature is above 20 °C and the relative humidity is below 70%.
• Working pressure: 2500 - 3000 psi (175 - 210 Kg/cm2).
• Preferred size: 19-21 Kg.
• Fan angle: 15°-30°.
• Hose diameter: 10 mm (3/8") - 6 mm (1/4") internal diameter.
• It is recommended to remove the filter from the machine before

Brush/roller application:

• The brush is used when the application is intended for small volumes.
• A fine roller ( roller) will produce a light textured finish.
